Meta tag preview
Paste your page’s <head> markup (or a full HTML document) and see Google-style SERP, Open Graph, Twitter/X, and Slack-style link previews — plus title and description length hints. Everything runs in your browser; we never fetch your URL.
Tip: Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or Cmd+Enter (Mac) runs preview.

How it works
Meta tags in <head> control how search engines and social platforms summarize your page: <title>, meta name="description", link rel="canonical", and Open Graph (property="og:*") / Twitter (name="twitter:*") duplicates. Getting lengths and imagery right improves click-through even before you rank #1.
This tool strips <script>, <noscript>, <iframe>, object/embed, and inline event-handler attributes from your paste, then uses the browser’s DOMParser to merge every <head>…</head> block when present; otherwise it wraps your text as head content. Meta tags are matched case-insensitively on name and property. It never performs fetch on your URLs — og:image is shown as a URL or loaded in an <img> only if your browser can resolve it (CORS may block some hosts).
Length hints use plain character counts on decoded text: titles near ~50–60 characters and descriptions near ~150–160 often fit common SERP snippets — but Google may rewrite titles dynamically, so treat bars as guidance.
Common use cases
- Before launch — sanity-check title and meta description after CMS export.
- After A/B copy tests — compare OG title vs HTML title mismatches.
- Client handoff — paste staging HTML into Slack-style preview to explain unfurl risk.
- International sites — verify
hreflanglink rows appear in the extracted table. - SPA shells — confirm server-rendered head contains OG tags bots need.
- Training — teach why
twitter:cardaffects image aspect in X previews.
You just tuned meta tags. CloudyBot can watch the live page.
Example: “Weekly, open our pricing page, confirm the title still contains ‘Hard caps’, and email me if the meta description changes.” CloudyBot combines browser automation with scheduled runs.

Open Graph preview, Twitter card checker, SERP snippet tool
People search for an open graph preview tool, twitter card validator alternative, or meta description length checker. This page bundles those workflows locally: one paste, multiple mock surfaces, and a tag inventory. For production validation you should still use each platform’s official debuggers where available — this tool is for fast iteration without uploading HTML to us.
Frequently asked questions
Is this meta tag preview tool free?
Yes. There is no signup, no usage counter, and no paywall. Use it as often as you like.
Is my HTML sent to your servers?
No. Parsing and previews run entirely in your browser. Open DevTools → Network and you will see no request carrying your paste when you preview.
Will this match Google or Twitter exactly?
No. Real SERPs and social crawlers apply proprietary rules, truncation, and freshness signals. This tool gives a practical approximation and character-count guidance — not a guarantee of live rendering.
Can I paste a full page HTML document?
Yes. The tool concatenates every <head> block’s inner HTML when multiple head blocks exist. If no head tag is found, it treats your entire paste as head-level tags (meta, link, title).
Why strip scripts before parsing?
Pasted marketing HTML may include third-party snippets. Removing script, noscript, iframe, object/embed tags and inline on* event-handler attributes reduces risk if you later copy results into other tools. It is not a substitute for reviewing untrusted HTML in an isolated environment.
